Terms of Service

The rules that govern your use of Turrant.

Effective: 26 May 2026 Version: 1.0 Governing law: India (Maharashtra courts)
Plain-language summary. Turrant is a marketplace connecting passengers with intercity taxi drivers. We don't drive cars; we connect people. Drivers set their own fares; passengers pick. Be respectful, pay agreed fares, follow traffic + transport laws. Disputes go through our grievance officer first; Indian courts after that.

1. What Turrant is (and isn't)

Turrant Mobility Pvt. Ltd. ("Turrant", "we") operates the Turrant platform at turrant.taxi — a digital marketplace that connects passengers with intercity taxi drivers and fleet owners. We are a Motor Vehicle Aggregator licensed under the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines, 2025 ("MVAG 2025").

Turrant does not provide transportation. The taxi service is provided by independent drivers + fleet owners. Turrant facilitates the discovery, pricing, booking, and payment of a trip. The contract for the ride itself is between you (the passenger) and the driver/fleet owner.

2. Eligibility

By creating a Turrant account you confirm that:

3. Accounts + sign-in

You sign in to Turrant via WhatsApp, Truecaller, or SMS OTP. Whichever method you choose, the phone number we receive becomes your account identifier. You are responsible for keeping access to that phone number secure.

One human = one account per role (passenger, driver, fleet owner). Creating multiple accounts to abuse referrals or evade restrictions is a violation of these Terms and grounds for permanent suspension.

If you change your phone number, contact our grievance officer to update your account — don't open a new account.

4. How a ride works

For passengers

  1. You enter pickup, drop, date/time, vehicle preferences.
  2. Drivers see your request + send real quotes with their name, rating, vehicle, and price.
  3. You pick a quote. The fare you accept is the fare you pay. No surge multiplier, no hidden post-trip adjustments (except waiting + stoppage charges per the cancellation policy below).
  4. The driver arrives + the trip starts; live GPS shares with anyone you've granted permission.
  5. You pay at the end via cash, UPI, or any other method the driver supports. Turrant generates a GST-compliant invoice.

For drivers + fleet owners

  1. You complete MVAG-2025 onboarding: documents verified, bank account verified, vehicle compliant.
  2. Your fleet owner sets your commission + applicable pricing rules; you bid against those rules on each broadcast.
  3. You quote a fare on intercity trips; the passenger picks (or doesn't).
  4. Trips are settled per the agreement between you and your fleet owner. Turrant only invoices the fleet owner for the platform fee.

5. Pricing, payments, cancellations

Quoted fare = total fare

The fare a driver quotes + the passenger accepts is the trip's base total. Additional charges may apply only in these specific cases:

Cancellation

Detailed cancellation policy lives in-app on the trip screen. The headline rules:

Payment

Most rides are paid directly to the driver in cash or UPI at the end of the trip. Where the platform processes payment digitally, our payment partner (currently Razorpay) handles the transaction. Turrant does not store full card numbers.

6. Acceptable use

Don't:

Violations result in suspension and, for serious cases, permanent ban + escalation to law enforcement.

7. Safety

Despite these measures, Turrant cannot guarantee absolute safety on every trip. Use the SOS button if you feel unsafe.

8. Our role + liability

Because the trip is provided by an independent driver / fleet owner, Turrant's liability is limited to:

Turrant is not liable for:

Total aggregate liability cap. Where Turrant is found liable, our total liability to any user for any incident is capped at the higher of (a) ₹10,000 or (b) the platform fees you paid us in the 12 months before the incident. This cap does not apply to claims we are required to honour under Indian law (e.g. fraud, gross negligence).

9. Driver + fleet-owner specific terms

Independent contractor relationship

Drivers and fleet owners are independent contractors, not Turrant employees. You set your own working hours, pricing within your fleet's rules, and accept or decline any trip request.

Platform fees

Turrant charges fleet owners a platform fee per completed trip (or a subscription, depending on your plan). The fee is invoiced monthly (or per the billing cycle you've selected) with GST. Fleet owners handle the payment to their drivers separately.

Document expiry

Drivers + fleet owners are responsible for keeping their identity, licence, fitness, insurance, PUC, and permit documents valid. Turrant's compliance system reminds you ahead of expiry and pauses activity automatically when a critical document lapses.

Suspension + termination

Turrant may suspend your account temporarily for document gaps, safety incidents, or rule violations. Permanent termination requires written notice + a reason. You can appeal any suspension via the grievance officer.

10. Intellectual property

Turrant, the Turrant logo, and all software, design, and content on the platform are our intellectual property. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or commercially redistribute them. You may take a screenshot of your own trip / invoice / dashboard for your own records.

Content you submit (reviews, ratings, dispute statements, photos uploaded for verification) remains yours; by submitting it, you grant Turrant a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it for operating + improving the platform.

11. Disputes + governing law

For any dispute, please first contact our grievance officer at grievance@turrant.taxi. We respond within 30 days and try to resolve most disputes informally.

Disputes that cannot be resolved this way are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Maharashtra, India, governed by the laws of India. Where the Consumer Protection Act 2019 gives you a different forum (e.g. consumer commissions), that right is preserved.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will trigger an in-app + email notification asking you to re-consent before continuing to use Turrant. Continuing to use the platform after a non-material change (clarifications, typo fixes) means you accept the updated Terms.

The current version is always at turrant.taxi/terms.html. Historical versions are archived; on request the grievance officer will share the version that was in effect on any specific date.
